Happy Birthday to me.

it is my birthday today.
people on Facebook have been wishing me on my wall since Monday.
as of now, I have received 133 birthday wishes (yes I am so free I counted) on my Facebook wall.
*bangga*
got some on Gtalk too.
thank you all for the wishes!
=D

yesterday, right after my Physical Chemistry paper, my friends had a small dinner for me at USM café.
they bought chocolate cake and all.
*touched*
and Ritchie zai was kind enough to splat cake on my face.
ok, he didn't.
more like, he pushed the cake into my face when I was about to eat it.
=='''
thanks to Bang, mommie Bel, Ritchie zai, noober, slave, Ben Li, Lyan zai, Wai Chun, BOY, daddy Jeremy, CK, Chang Yi, Chee King and Jun Li!
you guys are the best!
xoxo!

at 12.05a.m., Seraphina a.k.a. Dong a.k.a. my er jie called.
we talked for ages.
going back home to Kuching to meet her and the girls soon!
at 1.07a.m., Dylan called.
he tried calling earlier but Dong beat him to it haha.
we talked till his phone died.
lol.
and at 2.47a.m., guess who called.
+012***********.
Shaemiee omg!
like all the way from Russia!
he really took me by surprise then.
we talked for a few minutes then hung up.
I freaking miss him.
I love you Sam!
haha.
and thanks Dong and Dyl for calling!
can't wait to see you guys back in Kuching.

I received loads of birthday wishes through texts too.
there was one from my wretched sister, Mil, that went "Happy bday to my short sister" WTF.
but she wrote me a birthday blog post so yeah.
*touched again*
thanks Hung Chiek, Bren san jie, Pu, BOY, Ham, Kuo Chun, Mel, Ivan, Ah Mei EE and Mummy for the birthday texts!

on a random note, something Jared said to me on Facebook got me thinking.
so I was wondering: when you celebrate your 19th birthday, does it mean that you have walked the earth for 19 years or does it mark the beginning of your 19th year walking the earth?
most people have the misconception that the latter makes more sense.
but the fact is, celebrating your 19th birthday means that you have already lived for 19 years.
which means, as of tomorrow, I will be living the first day of the 20th year of my life.
omg.
wow.
I feel so grown up.
*rolls eyes*
but then again, I don't look grown up.
*wink*

one more thing, in case you didn't know.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICKEY MOUSE!!!
(since 18 November 1928)

New 데스크토프.

let me digress from exams for a bit and syok sendiri for awhile.
introducing my new age desktop:

it looks so fab now!
no desktop icons at all.
everything is in the Dell Dock.

Dell Dock can hide some more!
wah, so clean.

check this out.
when I open the Start menu, the little globe on the top right corner spins and thrusts recycling symbols out.
even the Start button is a globe.
so chio, right?

um... since when did I start using the word chio?
I take it back.

one more thing.
in case you were wondering what's with the Super Junior M wallpaper, well, I guess I'm starting to like their songs.
both Super Junior and Super Junior M.
yeah I know so outdated right.
but that is actually an excuse to hide the fact that I have a crush on one of them a.k.a. a Korean superstar.
one thing I swore - with my life - to not do when I was in high school.
just because I thought K-pop wasn't my cup of tea.

but that was way back in the past...

...before I discovered the existence of this heartthrob...

김려욱.
Kim Ryeowook.
he may look ordinary, but what the heck lah I like him okay!

Choi Siwon also not bad.
in this photo.
I'm not too sure how to type his Korean name.
취시원?
something like that lah.
haha I am so free and bored I end up doing all this nonsense.
hahahahahahahaha.

오케, 베크투스타디모드.
o-kae, be-keu tu seu-ta-di mo-deu.
ok, back to study mode.
Physical Chemistry omg.

p.s. the title is supposed to read 'New Desktop'.
the above Korean words are not proper Korean words that make up a sentence.
they're romanized Korean words.
I just typed it out according to the pronunciation.
which means I can read and write Korean, but I don't know the meanings of the words.
yeah I'm lousy like that.

Finals Day #3: CAB1023 Organic Chemistry.

Organic Chemistry was probably one of the reasons I loved Chemistry back in high school.
and Chemistry was the only reason I chose to study Chemical Engineering here.
but as of now, I feel like dropping out of UTP.
help?

Finals Day #2: EBB1113 Differential Equations.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm beginning to doubt my passion for numbers.

Finals Day #1: LBB1042 Academic Writing.

whoever thought Academic Writing a.k.a. English could be so disastrous?

to beloved Mr. Razol: I am so sorry for being so blind thus missing out the 'TITLE' space.

All hail Professor Vladimir Piven.

"Well I'm glad that there is another sane person like me who actually is not in denial and knows that obloodychem is freaking hard and the chances of doing well in it is as slim as Megan Fox."

The fruit of my labour.

let me start with a simple equation: sleep = life.
which comes to the point that I actually sacrificed my precious life for this:

the Academic Writing research paper (actually it's our final assignment but research paper sounds cooler so yeah).
what was supposed to be a 11- to 15-page assignment turned out to be a 60-page research paper.
all done in the course of one month.
(note: we were not last minute.)

Nostalgia.

last night was yet another sleepless night for me.
thanks to the Academic Writing research paper.
sigh.
it's not like we want to be last minute; we always seem to discover mistakes last minute.
and I, being the perfectionist in my group, can spend ages editing and modifying the language and data repeatedly while compiling the whole paper.

staying up all night like this always brings my mind back to study week in Foundation 1 when BOY and I used to go to IRC to study.
there was one night during study week, we talked on the phone for six hours straight.
we did not sleep at all.
come morning, we went to USM café to have roti canai for breakfast.
after that, we headed to IRC as soon as it opened.
we went to the closed carrel, took out our books and started studying.
and that was the cue for us to - simultaneously - drift off to sleep on the table.
then we would wake each other up and force one another to study.
and I would whine, whine and whine all day and refuse to study.
and BOY would have to constantly talk me into studying Physics and Chemistry and all.
ah... memories.
